SecureGRC · evaluation
How the platform integrates, how it is deployed, what implementation actually involves, how it is supported, and what drives commercial scope — including where the answer is that a capability is not there.
Integration
Grouped by the estate it touches. Where an integration does not exist, it is listed below rather than left for you to discover during implementation.
Connecting SecureGRC to the identity estate you already operate, so it is not another standalone user directory to administer.
Directory and SSO configuration is administered in the product, so authentication can be delegated to your identity provider rather than managed separately.
A SCIM endpoint is available for identity lifecycle integration, so user provisioning into SecureGRC can be driven from your existing source of truth.
Roles are defined in the platform with action-level rights per module. Users can hold multiple roles, and effective permission is the union of them constrained by data scope.
Getting data in and out under governance, so integration work does not require a shared administrator credential.
Integration credentials are issued, scoped and revocable through platform administration rather than shared as a user login.
Outbound webhook definitions allow your own systems to react to platform events, so SecureGRC can drive downstream automation you already run.
The platform is built API-first, with the tenant application and administration console served by the same REST API. Endpoint detail is provided during evaluation.
Enterprise GRC records export to CSV for reporting, reconciliation and onward analysis in tools your teams already use.
Where evidence physically lives, which is frequently a residency or procurement constraint rather than a technical preference.
Evidence and documents can be held on local storage, AWS S3, S3-compatible object storage, Google Cloud Storage or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure — selected per deployment.
Files are served through preview endpoints that check authorisation on each request, rather than through storage URLs that work for anyone holding the link.
Health, readiness and liveness endpoints plus Prometheus-format metrics via OpenTelemetry, so the platform reports into the monitoring stack you already operate.
How the platform reaches people, which determines whether governance activity actually gets done.
Outbound mail is configured to your own SMTP arrangement, so platform notifications originate from your domain rather than a third-party sender.
Templates and per-user notification preferences are administered in the product, so communication volume can be tuned rather than accepted as shipped.
Notifications are delivered in realtime over an authenticated channel, so work reaches owners without waiting for a mail cycle.
Not available
Stated here so it is a factor in your decision rather than a discovery in month three. If any of these is your primary requirement, we will tell you at evaluation that this is not the right platform for it.
Implementation
Platform configuration is rarely the constraint. What sets the timeline is how quickly decisions about accountability and cadence can be made — so each phase states the input required from your side.
Organisational structure, governance bodies, roles and the permission matrix are configured first. This phase decides who is accountable for what, and it is the one most often rushed — a platform configured before that is settled ends up reflecting an org chart rather than an operating model.
From your side
Decisions on structure, roles and data scope. Typically the largest single time commitment from your side.
Applicable frameworks are adopted into the tenant and their requirements normalised into the catalog, then mapped to a canonical control set. Where you already hold a control library, it is imported and reconciled rather than replaced.
From your side
Your current control set and framework list, plus review and approval of proposed mappings.
Risks, obligations, assets, vendors and policies are loaded and assigned. Registers populated with real entries rather than examples — a platform seeded with sample data is abandoned within a quarter.
From your side
Existing registers in whatever form they are held, and owners available to accept their assignments.
Review cycles, control test schedules, attestation campaigns, reminders and escalation paths are configured so the platform pursues outstanding work rather than waiting to be asked.
From your side
Agreement on realistic cadence. Configuring an aspirational cadence produces overdue items in week three.
Dashboards and the management reporting pack are configured against the metrics your governance forum actually uses, with each metric's definition recorded.
From your side
Your current reporting pack, and the questions leadership asks that it does not currently answer.
Role-based enablement for administrators, control owners, risk owners and reviewers, followed by a full cycle run alongside your team before they run it alone.
From your side
Availability for training, and a nominated internal platform owner.
Support
The distinction that matters in this category is whether the person answering understands GRC or only understands the software.
Support is provided by people who implement GRC programmes, so a question about methodology gets a methodology answer rather than a link to a help article.
Because Dabster builds the product and runs the consulting practice, a question that turns out to be about your framework rather than the software does not become a handoff between two vendors.
Platform changes are communicated ahead of release, with the operational effect described rather than a changelog reference.
The objective is that your administrators can configure and operate the platform themselves. Ongoing support is available, but needing it should not be a condition of the platform working.
Commercial model
Commercial arrangements are agreed per client. Rather than publish tiers that would not apply to you, here are the factors that actually determine scope — so you can frame the conversation before having it.
Identity, authorisation, tenant isolation, application security, audit logging and AI governance — by control domain.
Review the security modelThirteen capability groups with the problem each solves, and an explicit statement of what the platform does not do.

Next step
Bring the frameworks you have to satisfy, the integrations you need and the reporting your board expects. We will show you how far the platform gets and state plainly where it does not extend.
